QLED and The Frame TVsPermanent fix for eARC Soundbars:
Goto All Settings \ Sound \ Expert Settings
Switch eARC to Auto
I've been using it like that for days and days - no drops!
=================================================================
Temporary fix for non-eARC Soundbars:
Goto
All Settings
Sound
Expert Settings
DiGital Output Format
Select PCM
Works for me. Couple of hours without a single drop.
Id suggest we each take this with your local Samsung distributor. The more pressure we put on them the better.
==============
Original Story:
I have a per of QN90c 75" TV and a Q990B soundbar.
After the TV was updated I immediately noticed sound drops with my soundbar. The drops would come at random intervals. Resetting the TV does not help. Neither does changing sound modes. Output via TV Speakers seems to be working fine drops-free.
Searching online i found a few more similar cases with different Samsung TV models and Samsung soundbars affected by the same firmware.
Here's one:

QLED and The Frame TVsThink this is just placebo, i meab spdif/optical is also affected by the same hickups now and then. Its probably a buggy dolby digital codec that samsung needs to fix. Changing audio option from auto to pcm is a temp fix, but yea you basically lose surround temporarely

QLED and The Frame TVsAfter the factory reset no more audio drops for about 1 hour now. Before the reset i usually had 4-5 audio drops in one hour. I'll keep updated this post.

QLED and The Frame TVsI found a fix. This issue has been driving me mad since the update. Switching to PCM is no use, since it also turns off Atmos - and reduces rather than removes the dropouts. Eventually, I tried switching on eARC (on my TV, the choice is between 'off' and 'auto'). Not only did that clear up the audio dropouts entirely, but also Atmos is significantly better than it was. (I have an S95c + Q800b + rear speakers)

QLED and The Frame TVsThis will only work with an eARC compatible soundbar or surround system. If you are using your TV speakers and no external audio device, you should switch to PCM.
The route is - SETTINGS/ALL SETTINGS/SOUND/EXPERT SETTINGS
My settings are: surround
HDMI-eARC Mode: Auto
Digital Output Audio Format: Auto
I've also turned off simultaneous optical output

QLED and The Frame TVsWhen I switch from Auto to Off the soundbar switches from eARC to ARC and the dropouts still occur. When I toggle it back to Auto, effectively enabling eARC again, I notice that the sound is now quieter and less spatial and no DOLBY ATMOS name pops up on the soundbar. I suspect I lose Dolby Digital in that scenario and the sound might be PCM (stereo?) only. Also, there are no dropouts in this case.
Switching back to Off (ARC) reenables Dolby but the dropouts also come back.
This is my situation at the moment. The above "fix" doesn't really work for me.
The Digital Output is set to Auto all the time.
Anybody noticed a similar behaviour?

QLED and The Frame TVsYes noticing the same when switching to off and back to auto. Low volume and no real surround.
