Bring Back sdCard Slot

I was so disappointed when I found out that Samsung removed the sdCard slot from the S21.  I've had the S series phones since I had the S3.  Along the mostly great journey we had the removable battery and the sdCard taken away (S6).  Thankfully when users like me and many others refused to buy the S6 the the sdCard was brought back (but not the battery access).  But now Samsung took it away again in the Galaxy S21.

I'm hoping few people buy into Samsung with the S21 and us long term Samsung loyalists hold off upgrading to the S21 in hopes of sending a clear message to Samsung. WE WANT OUR OWN STORAGE OPTIONS!

I know that if the S22 is released without an sdCard slot I will sadly move on to a less desirable brand I order to maintain my storage desires.

Samsung's justification for removing the sdCard is waterproofing. But, there is still a SIM card slot (for now) so if they can waterproof that well and they move to eSIMs then they should be able to waterproof just the sdCard in that same space where the SIM sits now.

The missing SD card slot is THE ONLY reason I didn't even consider buying anything from the S21 series or the Z line of phones. It would be a shame to lose DeX, but I'd rather that than lose the storage. So if S22 has no SD Card, I'll probably move on to Sony.

I totally agree here.

What's the point of a high end phone with a high end camera, if you can't take a lot of pictures?

Internal storage has to handle the Android OS and every app. This means internal storage is already used up before you even open your phone!

If I'm on the road taking pictures, I don't want to struggle to choose what files to delete, what caches to clear etc. Swapping an SD card is fast and painless and easy.

It's much easier to spend $30-70 on a card than $1000+ on a new phone... And then have to transfer over all my apps and data.

I agree totally, I passed on the s21 due to no SD slot. If they pass on the SD slot again for s22, sadly I will have to pass on this year's phone. It's a shame since I just got a Samsung watch to pair with my s10. I'll be stuck at 4g til I find another phone brand or hope the s22 will have what I desire. Let's all pray to have them answered.

I also have been a loyal Samsung user for a very long time. Only skipping upgrading on some versions due to no SD card. I love being able to store everything on it. Been wanting to upgrade but have not due to them removing it. Was really looking forward to s22..but now hearing Samsung still did not put it back I too may have to switch. Shame on you Samsung for not listening to your loyal fans.

Completely agree. No SD Card slot on phone is the main reason for me not to buy S21 and it will remain the same for S22. Hopefully, they bring back the SD Card slot again. We should have the freedom to customize storage ourselves.

I know S22 comes in large storage, 512GB, 1TB but that would be at hugely cost.
