How can I get the mail app to stop deleting my emails?

How do i get the mail app to stop deleting my emails? Even the stared ones are deleted over time.

In your mail app press the 3 lines on the top left and then the settings gear wheel. In settings select the email your having a problem with. Select email sync period and set to all time.
