My Samsung Messages app keeps closing. I've restarted my phone multiple times. I've gone to Settings > App Settings > Messages > Storage and hit Clear cache and Clear data. When I do this, the space used for cache and data go down to 0, but then immediately go back up to the original storage amounts when I reopen Messages.
I found a previous conversation about Messages crashing in Dec 2023 and tried following the instructions but when I held down the power button and volume up with the phone turned off, the phone restarted as normal, even though I held them down until after the Samsung logo disappeared.
If I can't fix it, can I install a different app for
My Google storage is 94% full. Could that be connected?
It's an issue that's being worked on. Hopefully, it's fixed soon, but in the meantime, you can switch to Google Messages until it's fixed

I'm so frustrated right now. I haven't been able to text, I go to the app and start texting, and it goes away. I have my grandchildren that I watch during the day and need to be able to contact their mother at work without calling her job.
You can switch to Google Messages which is still working until they get issue resolved

At the moment, the Samsung Messages app isn't working for a lot of people until it gets fixed. I suggested switching over to Google Messages until Samsung Messages starts working again

Had this problem.. Saw in recent community post that if you find the Google Meet app. Long press, then select Disable, that will fix the problem. Worked for me. Not sure what is happening with Google and Samsung Messages but this all started yesterday
