My Samsung Messages app keeps closing. I've restarted my phone multiple times. I've gone to Settings > App Settings > Messages > Storage and hit Clear cache and Clear data. When I do this, the space used for cache and data go down to 0, but then immediately go back up to the original storage amounts when I reopen Messages.

I found a previous conversation about Messages crashing in Dec 2023 and tried following the instructions but when I held down the power button and volume up with the phone turned off, the phone restarted as normal, even though I held them down until after the Samsung logo disappeared.

If I can't fix it, can I install a different app for

My Google storage is 94% full. Could that be connected?

I can receive but as soon as I open to read it shuts down if I start a message from new where I have to enter the contact name or number and go from there it will stay open to where I can send a message

Had this problem.. Saw in recent community post that if you find the Google Meet app. Long press, then select Disable, that will fix the problem. Worked for me. Not sure what is happening with Google and Samsung Messages but this all started yesterday

How could somebody come up with a solution that disabling Google Meets fixes issues with Messages App. Is that some sort of troubleshooting techniques? If something doesn't work on your phone, start randomly disabling the apps till problem goes away.

Google Meet is pre installed,  Open your app drawer and in the search box type Meet and when the icon shows up long press on it and select disable
