Samsung Health monthly challenge requiring sync with contacts

Recently, Samsung Health won't allow me to join the monthly challenge unless I connect my contacts. This has never been a requirement before. Is anyone else getting this pop-up? I shouldn't have to give them access to my contacts to participate.

Please submit an error report in the Members app under the Support tab to provide feedback to Samsung. https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/How-to-Submit-an-Error-Report/ba-p/3001692

Maybe another Member can post with any workarounds they may find.
