Samsung Apps and ServicesI got this message
Verizon Msg: Samsung Messages will no longer support RCS after 1.6.2025. Switch to Google Messages to maintain the more robust messaging you're used to." and was wondering what it means?

Samsung Apps and ServicesThere seems to be good alternative such as Signal which seems to allow your basic texting functions (never an issue getting the messages across) but doesn't sniff through your messages for marketing reasons and thereby enriching big-tech at the expense of your privacy.

Samsung Apps and Servicesso I tried to update the google messages app on my phone to the most updated release(galaxy S22+ from verizon) and it apparently is not compatible with RCS chats on my device. When I check it says my "RCS chats are not available on this device" so i guess no samsung chat, nor verizon chat, and also no google messages.
Reckon I'll have to find a third party app and use that after all this happens.
Way to go Samsung and Verizon!

Samsung Apps and ServicesUr good. RCS is not on by default in the message app.
to enable RCS u gotta go through some weird steps like downloading Google Phone app, setting that as default, going into settings, enabling rcs stuff.. then restart ur regular messenger and ull see the options in settings
but since you havent done that you dont have anything to worry about
For anyone that actually has rcs enabled, Personally, i wouldnt go with Google because the permissions they request for their messenger is like signing your life away with all your data. Extremely intrusive app. there are others that dont suck all your data on the market. most have adds, so watch out for those.
Dont get google even if you life is an open book. Make them work for your data
