What viewing software that is compatible.  Wisenet reports incompatibility in July 2024.

Samsung might have permanently lost my business over this one - I’m moving to a competitor camera system for both of my locations, as there’s no logical reason why a legacy camera platform cannot be supported by a legacy build of the app at the consumer’s discretion. Forced obsolescence- especially for a perfectly functional device that was $130 a pop not that long ago - is not a great look. 

I purchased mine through Amazon, who still lists this model for sale with Prime shipping, and don’t have any solutions or offers for customers outside of return or warranty periods. That’s expected, of course, but a neat reminder that unless the brand supports their product, you’re SoL.

I too am impacted by this stupid action and now have expensive paperweights and a compromised security solution. The stress & anxiety  is killing me. Am speaking with one of our lawyers on a no win no fee class action, probably small recompense for many after legal costs yet it does chase Samsung for a collective cost for our losses and hold them to account, plus the negative publicity will suck for them. Maybe they will be motivated to provide and communicate  a solution.  Am meeting with the junior on the brief and will repost their details next week.

I had over a dozen “smart” cams  with custom enclosures and mounts that are trash now. Over a thousand dollars and many hours setup. Every one was fully functional with years of service life remaining. I will think twice before purchasing a Samsung product that requires support. I have switched my security cam system to REOLINK 4K cams including an outstanding video doorbell. The Reolink app is excellent!

which app for viewing reolink  cameras please I have a dozen Samsung and they are working on my older iphone / SmartCam app but my new iphone with the app stated rendered useless and of January 2025 

Also what to do with a dozen perfectly working Samsungs unbelievable

Since today the app is working again... I really don't know why. Cam was offline for over 2weeks and now suddenly online again.

If you have blueiris or vlc and setup a static dhcp reservation for the cameras you can still grab the rtsp stream from the camera.  But as others have stated you can't configure or see anything on the camera app anymore.  I had started replacing all of my cameras with unifi cameras since all of these cameras are 2.4ghz and a pain to keep going.

 

You can access the direct rtsp streams using the username/password that was setup admin (and your passcode)

Members_i3r9dye, is there some way you can post your info above again with no shortened words or acronyms for those of us who are clueless? I love these cams, and I have seen the Blue Iris recommendation before, but I do not know how to do what you recommend. When you say admin user and password, do you mean the Samsung login for the Samsung account, or the password that I set for each camera during setup? Also, if the password for each camera, what would the user name be? Admin? Sorry, but I have no idea. I will probably be purchasing that Blue Iris software. I use these cams to monitor my elderly mother, and nothing else I have purchased will capture sound worth a **bleep**. I have to be able to hear and understand her. I also, have to be able to see and hear if she leaves her kitchen sink water running. The TAPO and Wansview cameras I have tried are not cutting it. The FOV for every other camera is also much less and does not work for my purposes. Any help you can provide would be so appreciated!

Yes, the username password that you used to connect the camera to your app - not the app login itself.

The blueiris method is not easy or straight forward. It requires a machine to run as an NVR 24/7 to record the events and is connected to camera using the URI i provided.
