Folks,

Greetings and Thank You.

My A8 has Android 14 and connects with Windows Desktop/Laptops and Galaxy S21 and S23 without problems. Recognizes USB drives. However it does not recognize Verbatim Ext Portable SSD.

I am using the same cable to connect.

Battery can not be the issue I suppose because the Tablet has a battery of 7800mah whereas the phone is only4700mah

Done both Data reset and Factory reset of no avail.

Any ideas/advice.

Thanks again

SK

I bought a Tab A8 earlier this year and I absolutely hate it. Yes the screen looks good but it's VERY laggy to the point where I'm ready to just break it in half and call it a loss. I really miss my Tab S5E which was alot more responsive then this piece of **bleep**. Unfortunately I bricked that Tablet trying to install LineageOS on it. Does anyone else think this A8 tablet is a complete pile of e-waste **bleep**?

Do the phones successfully connect with this Verbatim SSD? Is the drive formated with a file system recognized by Android?

Yes .Have tried with ex FAT and NTFS. Tried every possible solution except using OTG Adaptor.

Any thoughts?

Thank You.

Maybe you actually need to use the OTG adapter.

Have you tried contacting Samsung or Verbatim tech support about this? There's no apparent reason why your A8 can't successfully connect with the Verbatim SSD. I just checked the tablet diagnostics in the Support area here in the Members app and there's a test there for USB connectivity which you should run with the Verbatim drive and again with a USB drive looking for what differences it detects. You can create an error report there too describing what you find. In addition, when an error report is submitted, a system log is copied and submitted along with your error report to Samsung tech support. Maybe they can figure out what's going on with the Verbatim drive. Good luck.
