I updated my phone recently, and got One UI 6. And after that SIM card slot 1 stops working.

If a sim card is installed in slot 1 then there is no service, even if the phone is showing E (Egde) and signal level in the notification area. And I checked SIM status, it is showing "connecting".

If I install the same sim card to slot 2 then everything works fine!

I went to carrier office and we tried a few different sim cards there, got same result for all sim cards: nothing works in slot 1 and slot 2 works fine.

Again, it happened after the update, so this is definitely a software bug.

Very very frustrated and disappointed. Samsung Mobile division and QA - this is terrible!

This is the exact issue I'm facing after the recent OneUI 6 update. I'm in Denmark and this is totally so frustrating. Were you able to manage to fix this issue?

Iam experiencing the same issue.

During Jan 2024, samsung A53 sim slot 2 does not work. Then during April slot 1 also lost.

I tried to factory reset couple of times not fix the issue.

I asked support from Belgium samsung support. They could not resolve it.

I need to throw this samsung phone into Garbage.

So the problem I see is you folks are using a globally unlocked phone with dual Sim capability. Now the question is are you using an esim or a traditional Sim. It could be that the esim got broken or possibly samsung updates had issues with the newer esim support on your device. 1) it is not samsungs fault for your device not registering the sim/esim. 2) software they make for the phone/specific model is made for the device under factory specific hardware. I.e. if it's modified or rooted then you have a greater chance of the updates not working with your device. I don't care if it's a baked in root process or system less root via magisk, it will break updates and Bork your phone

Also you can use dialer code *#*#4636#*#* to check your phones connection status. Warning do not change any settings in this menu. It's used for info only
