If Push Services is un-installed, 1. will it interfere with other apps and disrupt other functionsof the phone?; 2. will it stop all notifications from the Samsung store?

@Ms_EMR You can't uninstall the Samsung Push Service.

Why are you even considering it?

It will certainly interfere with the operation of apps that use it's system functionality.

It is the only option for the app, and I want notifications of social media to stop cause I have no interest in seeing them in the notification bar.

@Ms_EMR The answer is to turn off notifications from those social media apps.

I've never seen a notification from something that isn't installed. Can you provide a screenshot?

@Ms_EMR Try this:

First:

  1. Open phone settings
  2. Click on Notifications
  3. Click on Advanced settings
  4. Enable the option "Manage notification categories for each app"

Then:

  1. Open phone settings
  2. Click on Apps
  3. Click on the Galaxy Store app
  4. Click on Notifications
  5. Click on Notification categories
  6. Turn off (disable) these options:  Instant Plays, Events, and General notifications
