Samsung A14: What is the phone number listed under sim messages?

What is the phone number listed under sim messages? Is it pre-installed or?? I don't recognize it or even know what it's used for or how to use it. Can somebody help???

Most likely the original phone # registered to that sim. Then somewhere down the line it was replaced by your current number.

It was brand-new when I bought it 2 mo the ago but I did register it to my cell number that I've had for like 4 yrs...completely different number from what the sim number is

Oh, i see it now. Perhaps it was for messages saved to a sim. Is there a message attached to it?

I always thought that you could backup your messages to the sim, never tried it tho and I have a esim now so can't try it

I think it's a throwback from the days when you used to have to back everything up to a SIM card before you changed phones. And also a way to back up your messages if you have no SD card or external device handy.
