Might have something to do with the impending discontinuation of Samsung Messages. They won't be supporting it. Users will need to migrate to Google Messages.

It's not being discontinued... they are only pushing folks to Google Messages for a more enriched RCS experience. I'm using Samsung Messages with full RCS/Chat Settings on my Flip6 (AT&T). Stop telling people it's being discontinued when it is not.

Their pushing you to Google Messages because they are not going to support Samsung Message app much longer. The RCS chat is a feature enhancement that has been updated.
