Fold & Flip PhonesHey everyone,
I wanted to share a frustrating experience with my Samsung Flip 6 in case anyone else is facing similar issues, and maybe get some advice.
I’ve only had my Flip 6 for about a month, but after a recent update last week, the phone completely stopped charging via the port, whether it’s open or closed. I contacted Samsung, and they wanted me to drive 40 miles to get it looked at, but that wasn't practical for me, especially since I can’t be without my phone for an extended period of time. Luckily, it still charges wirelessly, and I was able to resolve this issue by filing a warranty claim with AT&T. They’re sending me a new phone, which gave me some hope that maybe I just had a bad unit.
However, today at the gym, I opened my phone only to find that the main screen is completely unresponsive—frozen solid. No matter what I do, it won't respond to touch. I’ve tried restarting it several times, turning it off and on, different charging cables, different plugs, everything... and nothing works. Now, I can only use the front screen for basic tasks since it’s the only thing that still works.
At this point, my confidence in the Flip 6 is pretty much gone. I’m still waiting for the warranty replacement, but now I’m seriously wondering if the new phone will have the same issues or if I just got a lemon. Has anyone else had similar problems? Is there something I’m missing? I’ve exhausted all my options, and I really don’t want to lose faith in this phone, but it’s been a rough experience so far.
Samsung, if you're listening, please help. This has been incredibly frustrating!
Thanks in advance for any advice or help.

Fold & Flip PhonesI'm having the same issue with my Z Flip 6 - the touchscreen is unresponsive. Occassionally after a restart I can get it to respond but as soon as I close the phone and open it again, it becomes unresponsive. I guess the only difference is my charging port still works. Had an appointment today with UBreakIFix, the Asurion servicer, and they talked to their Samsung field tech who said this is an uncommon issue, but they are hearing more reports of it. As of now Samsung does not have a fix that a local repair center can perform, and the only option is to mail the phone back to Samsung for repairs. My current workaround is a USB-C male to USB-A female dongle with a wireless mouse (receiver plugged into the dongle) which allows me to navigate the screen, but as you can imagine, it's a clumsy solution. I bought this phone directly through Samsung, even though it is on the Verizon network so something tells me I won't be able to get Verizon to replace it.
This issue only started last night (Sept 12) for reference. I'd rather Samsung ship me a new phone and I just send this one back to them; I can't really afford to be without my phone.

Fold & Flip PhonesQuick update -
First thing Saturday morning I talked to Samsung repair, who verified that I would need to send my phone back to them for repair, and no they could not send me a new one. My son suggested I ask Verizon if I could get a loaner phone, and to check if my phone is locked or unlocked. I verified that my phone, while purchased directly from Samsung, is locked to the Verizon network, and apparently in the past I purchased some sort of coverage for it on our account. So I went to the Verizon company store near me, walked in, showed the guy that the screen wasn't working, and he directed me to another guy who looked up my account and said "OK you'll have a new phone Monday." I asked if it would be blue (my current Flip 6 is blue) and he said yep, same model, same color, same storage capacity. So fingers crossed that this new phone works properly when I get it!
In the meantime, I learned from a Reddit post that you can download an app from the Galaxy Store called Good Lock, which will allow you to add apps to a Launcher widget so you can use the front screen of your phone to navigate apps. I added a whole bunch of my most-used apps, and it works great! It's a small square screen, so it's not perfect, but at least I can use my phone without a mouse and dongle until my new one shows up. It's so convenient that even when I get my new phone, I'll probably still use some apps on the front screen for times when I just need to check something real quick, and save some wear and tear on the hinge and inner screen.
Here's a link to a tutorial for setting up apps to launch on your front screen using Good Lock: https://www.androidcentral.com/apps-software/how-to-set-up-and-use-apps-on-the-samsung-galaxy-z-flip...

Fold & Flip PhonesCan you explain how to do the 7 second reset? And did this for a factory reset? My screen is unresponsive and I'm trying to get it to work just long enough to access my pics to save. Is that an option?

Fold & Flip PhonesIf you have a Windows PC you can use Windows Phone Link to access your phone screen and navigate. Alternatively, get a USB-C maie to USB-A female dongle and a wireless mouse with a USB-A transceiver, and you can connect that to your phone and navigate the screen that way. It's cumbersome but it does work.

Fold & Flip PhonesI'm having the same issue after the update. No main screen after the volume down + power button and it's been overheating since the update. Especially on charging. No drops without a fully protective case or water damage
