Fold & Flip Phones

Hi,

Samsung Fold 4 suddenly stopped working normally after I plugged it in for charging. If I remove it from charging, the phone switches off, if I plug it in for charging, it works perfectly fine. For 8 to 9 months I got my screen changed. I visited the service centre and they want me to get the screen changed. I fail to understand if the screen is faulty, how come it works perfectly fine, when I plug it in?

I have not dropped the phone, no damage and suddenly while charging phone goes for a toss. Would request to do needful. I have been recommending Fold 4 and have been a fan of it, within 8 months twice have had issues with a phone screen twice. It is not acceptable. For every problem in Fold 4, the Samsung service centre, has one response, change the screen, which is crazy expensive. I don't believe my screen is a problem, or it should not work properly while charging.   @Members

Hello, welcome to the Community, and thanks for reaching out about your Fold 4 switching off when unplugged from charging. I can certainly see how this is frustrating and concerning. The first thing to try is some troubleshooting, like checking to see if the cable(s) are correct and compatible with your device, checking them for damage, and seeing if this happens with other compatible cables as well as the one the device came with from the box. You should also try clearing your device's cache partition with these steps:
- Power off your device.
- While the device is powered off, simultaneously press and hold the power and volume up buttons.
- Once the Samsung logo appears, release both buttons. Your device should boot into recovery mode.

Using the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to select:

- Navigate to "wipe cache partition" and press power.
- Select yes to confirm.
- Navigate down to "Repair apps" and press power.

If the behavior continues after doing so, there is a possibility a third-party application is responsible for this. You can check with Safe Mode: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062983/

If this continues to happen even in Safe Mode, it may be time to try a factory reset and give your device a fresh start. Back up everything prior, and follow this guide: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062029/

If the troubleshooting is not helpful, the phone will need to be evaluated by a certified technician.

My phone a14 does the same thing I saw that in dev options the USB was set for file transfer and not charging only. I tried changing my wallpaper theme and had no issues since but began after the latest update. Could be the graphics.
