I've seen people who have factory reset their devices after a software update. I was wondering if that really does anything? Is it better to factory reset before or after the update?

Galaxy Note PhonesHi @GoddessOfThunder, It isn't necessary to do a factory reset after an update. It is recommended to clear the cache partition to remove any corrupt files. This does not delete your data from the phone. https://www.hardreset.info/devices/samsung/samsung-galaxy-note-20/wipe-cache/ The benefits of doing a factory reset would be because the longer you use your smartphone the more unnecessary data it accumulates, and the reset allows you to start fresh. Just be sure to do a backup before resetting the phone. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062029/
