Does it really do anything to factory reset phone after a software updates?

I've seen people who have factory reset their devices after a software update. I was wondering if that really does anything? Is it better to factory reset before or after the update?

Hi @GoddessOfThunder, It isn't necessary to do a factory reset after an update. It is recommended to clear the cache partition to remove any corrupt files.
