Does Galaxy ring stay connected to the phone while locked in case

Hello,

Recently I bought galaxy ring and the problem i am having is, it stay connected to the phone even though ring is locked in case and not being used. This causes unnecessary battery drain from case at the rate of 18% every 24 hours even without use.You can see the screenshot where ring is connected while it was locked in case. Ideally it shoud have disconnected and grayed out like last two devices.

Is anyone else facing similar issue? and how to fix this?

Hello, Welcome and thank you for being part of the Community. We understand how frustrating it is for the Ring to stay connected to the phone while closed in the charging case.

Have you tried restarting or resetting the Ring?

To restart the Ring, press and hold the charging case's Multipurpose button for more than 7 seconds to restart it.

To reset the Ring, On the connected phone, open the Galaxy Wearable app, and then tap Reset.

Yes, i have tried restarting and resetting, and it didn't help.

Thank you for confirming. Another suggestion is to try resetting the network settings on the phone. Phone Settings>General Management>Reset>Reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Settings This will not delete your data, but you will have to reconnect to your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices.

Please let us know if there is any change after resetting the settings.

On the phone, in your Bluetooth settings, does the Ring show connected there, with the watch, or does it give you the option to connect?

For the ring in bluetooth setting never says connected even when i am wearing ring. It only shows under paired device in bluetooth settings and show connected disconnected in wearable applications.

Thank you for checking those settings. We have been advised that the Wearable app will always show the Ring as being connected, this is expected behavior.
