Does the Ring constantly need to be connected via BT?

Recently purchased and paired the Ring and everything seems fine. I'm assuming it will take a week or so to gather a 'base level' worth of data?

My main concern is whether or not it always has to be connected to my phone via Bluetooth?

I have a Pixel, and over the years i have had issues with battery life so i tend to only enable BT when needed. I'm curious wheter the Ring saves relevant data within it, then transfers it to the phone/app when next connected?

Any guidance in relation to this, or even how the Ring captures different metrics would be helpful.

TIA

The ring can track data on its own, and just needs BT connection to sync. I don't know how long it logs for, probably only 24-48 hours. I've had my phone die overnight but it still synced with my ring for sleep tracking data.

No pal. I took time to post on a Samsung forum, which is relative to Samsung products.

I assume the correct capitalisation of 'Ring' threw you somewhat.

Thanks for correcting my mistake. Yes, it has to be connected with bluetooth.

It clearly is posted in "Galaxy Ring".
OP, i own the ring and wonder the same thing. I have a Watch Ultra also and pay for cellular connection, yet it wants to be connected via Bluetooth. I think both devices require a BT connection to transfer data.
I will do some testing today Oct 29th and see if I can go all day without BT connection, and see if it syncs any data tomorrow when connected BT.1730212685261.jpg

Appreciate your response.

I'll be going for a 5 mile walk later and will see wheter it Auto-detects the walk without being connected to my phone.

Hopefully i get on better with this than i did the Whoop.

I like my ring but find it not needed if you have a smartwatch. In fact, it doesn't record data for items the watch has covered, and it tells you it does NOT record those items if wearing your watch.

To be transparent, i won a $5000 GAW from Samsung and had to spend the money. I wouldn't buy both if it came out of my pocket.

This is what I've found, it logs data but will not sync or tell you anything until it's BT connected.

I've own the ring since launch and can't have my phone at work and it still gathers information on it when not connected to the phone and will upload that night when I reconnect to the phone
