Galaxy S PhonesI'm based in Kenya..
I buy, repair and resale Samsung phones from eBay. I always have full details of the sellers, individual or business. My problem is, occasionally I will find out that the phone I bought is locked to certain carriers and can't be used in Kenya. Is there a way that Samsung can assist in unlocking such phones since there's proof of purchase?
Kindly advice.

Galaxy S PhonesI did send Vodafone a tweet on this, and their answer was that they can only UNLOCK the phone if the request is made by the person who bought the phone from one of their outlets.

Galaxy S Phones@I_amthaQueen I would guess that you would need to contact a lawyer to see if there is any action that you can take.

Galaxy S Phones@ithagu1 Personally, I think that your best solution is to contact the seller and arrange for a return of any phone which you determine is still locked on a carrier. It is difficult enough to get an issue like this resolved when you live in the US. Trying to do it from another country just adds even more difficulty.

Galaxy S PhonesI have done a little survey on this and if I compare third party UNLOCKING service vs re-posting the phone back to UK, reposting fee is double the Unlocking expense.
These companies just push law abiding citizens to the high dirty walls.
