My camera has no shutter sound?

@deb o Try this:

1. Open the camera
2. Click the gear icon (upper left)
3. Enable Shutter sound

If that is enabled and you still don't have the shutter sound:

1. Open the camera
2. Click the gear icon (upper left)
3. Click on Reset settings

thanks. i did both and also restarted camera several times.  any other ideas?  this just started lately. was good until recent

@deb o Is your phone's sound set to mute? This prevents the shutter sound.

no not mute. i even tried playing videos, etc to see if that would help but nothing yet. very frustrating. 

i am going to try and call it and see if i hear ringing....  give me a minute.  what would make these changes to phone without actually changing the settings.   drives me crazy.

omg, it was the volume and ring setting!  they were off. why would it be turned off?  i dont understand why these setting change when i dont do anything to make the changes.   it has to be the updates would it not?  thank you
