I would like to know what feature is this for? This is under schedule message from the sms app. I can still schedule an sms message without ticking the box for this option, but I just want to know what's the use of it?
It's the same functionality as "Schedule Send" that's available in Gmail and Google Messages ... you can schedule an email or text message to be sent in the future.
So, for example, you have a fun idea you want to share with a friend, but it's 2am and obviously don't want to send the text then.
Type the text, then long press the Send button, and a pop up allows you to schedule the time you want the message to be sent (same with a Gmail email)
If you press Set Schedule Later the message will be saved as a Draft, without a schedule. At a later time you can open this Draft and send it immediately or you can schedule it at that time.
