Hey there! I can absolutely understand wanting your favorite features on your device to work like they were designed to! Since this is happening after the update I would suggest clearing the cache of your device by following the below steps.
With the device off, press and hold the Volume Up key first, then the Side key. When the Android logo displays, release all keys and wait until you get the Android system recovery menu options. Press Volume down to highlight Wipe cache partition, then press Side key to select it.
I would also submit an error report by going to the Samsung Members app > Get help > Send feedback > Error reports.
Try this really quick. With the phone off, press and hold Power and Volume up buttons until the Samsung logo disappears. Using volume keys, highlight Wipe cache partition, then power to select and confirm on the following screen. On the original menu, use volume to navigate to Repair apps, and then power again to select. This will reindex all your apps. Go back to Settings>Notifications>Notification pop-up style>try changing the pop-up style to detailed again.
