I literally have four phones I have the Samsung Galaxy s22 Ultra I have the Samsung Galaxy s22 plus and I have the Samsung Galaxy s22 and last but not least one of my favorite and last but not least one of my favorite phones is my Microsoft Surface Duo 1 which is awesome

My question is this, why is it that I have three s22 phones one of each one but the s22 plus is the only one that got the new Android update and the new UI update? Why did my ultra not get it and if the plus is going to get it you would think the ultra would get it first but I didn't get it on that one and my regular s22 didn't get it so I'm just wondering how the **bleep** I got it on the s22 plus and by the way I'm on AT&T if that helps. Just trying to figure out what the heck's going on cuz I'd like to have all three of my phones on to the next Android version. Thanks in advance happy holidays Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas

Thanks I appreciate that and I'm sure everyone else does too. I know exactly what you mean by your update was interrupted wait 24 hours I got that several times in my phone that I didn't have my SIM card in so I took it out of my other phone and put it in there and then I was able to update

@Master2uAll88 Each device is on separate release cycles. The process is this:

  1. When you install a carrier SIM in your phone, the phone reads the update server information and from then on looks for updates on the carrier update server.
  2. Samsung releases the firmware for a device to the carriers.
  3. For the carrier version, the carrier adds their unique apps, sounds, and features.
  4. Each carrier decides on their testing schedule and release plan.
  5. Once each carrier is happy with the firmware, they push it to their update servers so that it available to their subscribers.
  6. The cycle is the same for U1 (unlocked) models except that carrier's do not add their customizations.

This is why:

  • Some carriers never release an update to their subscribers.
  • U1 (unlocked) versions and carrier versions typically drop different days.
  • Some users see the updates before other users. This is due to some carriers quickly approving the update and others taking their time.

All of mine were bought at the same time so they are locked to AT&T and it's the same service so it doesn't make sense for why one would get it but not the other two I can see if it was the ultra because that's the top of the line but for it to be the plus doesn't make any sense and like I said they're all bought at the same time all are locked and all are AT&T so it doesn't make sense

@Master2uAll88 "... it doesn't make sense for why one would get it but not the other two..."

Since these devices each have their own unique firmware:

  • AT&T (any carrier) must test and release the firmware for the S22 Ultra.
  • Repeat for S22 plus.
  • Repeat for S22.

There is no guarantee that a carrier is going to test firmware for all models at the same time or even release firmware for all models at the same time.

Okay I guess that does make a little bit more sense that way just kind of weird they went with that one first you would figure it would be the ultra but hey it is what it is all right thanks I appreciate it I'm sure it'll be all updated for all of them by the end of the month anyway thank you

While it's nice to have Samsung get faster in the release I am beginning to think it was more for show. I have an unlocked S22 ultra (att service and sim) but no joy, not even att the carrier locked versions in the USA.
I have to ask why they didn't release it to all variants (S22, S22+, S22 ultra including unlocked and carrier locked) at the same time.
Not hearing anything official 2 weeks now from Samsung is frustrating to say the least. I think all the updates have been paused because my wife has a carrier locked variant on att and nothing for her either. Had to stop using the att dialer because of calls not going through so that issue would seem to be an att issue and not Android.
When Samsung goes dark like this is not a good sign.

Good luck everyone.

I haven't had any issues that I know of but I also don't get a whole lot of phone calls but the ones that I normally have I haven't had anybody say they have had any problems getting a hold of me and I hope it doesn't become a problem on any of my phones because all three of my s22s are updated now and I got the ultra the plus and the regular and my tab 9 tablet has it also and so far so good it looks different on my tablet than it does on the phones though that's what's kind of weird. But other than that I guess I just really haven't played around with it much to see how much different it is from 13, but man I really hope there ain't no issues that is going to cause problems and that's why they went dark and have paused all the updates

Try again make sure everything's updated with the SIM card in reboot try again then remove SIM card connect to Wi-Fi and try again if it has an updated by any of those means or hasn't updated any other way you'll just have to wait until it finally comes to that phone
