I'm currently organizing my gallery, and I noticed the auto-updating albums. I was wondering-- do the pictures automatically get transferred from camera to album? Or do they just duplicate the picture into the album.

Do you mean the "Recent" album? The Recent isn't really an album. It just shows pictures which are identified by an algorithm. They are not duplicate and do not take up extra space.

If you delete something from
Recent, it is deleted from the album where it really exists and deleted from your phone.

No I'm talking about when you can make an auto-updating album. Do the photos automatically transfer from the camera album to the auto-updating albums, or do they make duplicates?

I think those are virtual albums. Swipe up on a photo in one of those albums. Underneath the photo, it will show you the location where the photo is stored. I'll bet it shows the Camera album. 1734924469812.jpg

When you move a photo out of the "camera" album, it moves it to the new album. It does not make a copy unless you select "copy to album". I don't know what you mean about auto updating albums. Albums are updated when you move or copy photos to them. All photos are initially placed in the "camera" album until you move them to another album. The "recents" album is not a real album and will always show your most recently taken or accessed photos. So if you accessed a picture taken two years ago to move from one album to another, that photo will show up as recent. There is no need to move it again, it's already where you put it. The "favorites" "album" is also virtual and is there to help you quickly navigate to pictures you have "hearted".
