My S23 base model is about 11 months old.  I got it from t-mobile,

It worked great until a few months ago when I suddenly wasn't able to get a decent signal upstairs anymore.  I used to be able to get 5G UC upstairs in my bedroom but suddenly it was cutting out and intermittent.  I called tmobile and they said there was some planned maintenance on my local tower.
So I assumed that was the issue, especially since my phone seemed to work fine at other locations with strong 5g UC towers.
what I later came to realize is that my phone was not able to connect when the signal is not very strong,
I kept ignoring it but I noticed I was getting frequently dropped calls while driving and it was starting to irritate anyone I would be talking to.
then last month we had a power outage at home and that's when I realized just had bad this s23 phone was.  I couldn't get ANY signal whatsoever..but everyone else in my house could.  I ended up using my son's older S21 ultra as a hotspot so I could check messages etc on my s23.
I later found that my s23 also couldn't get a signal at a friend's house when it used to work fine there before.
I tried my sim card in the s21 and its able to pick up a signal...so that means its the phone, not the sim card.
I'm curious if there could be any settings or something I can do software-wise to fix this s23....I'm waiting to see if I can get it replaced under warranty but this phone has no damage that I can see...its always had a case on it.    It seems strange to think there's some hardware failing that just randomly happened after nearly a year.

by the way I already factory reset the phone, after resetting network settings etc.

Same issue with T-mobile, started 3 weeks ago. Have 5G UC, 5 bars, then bam, the circle with the diagonal ..no connect. I can't make calls. I'm really **bleep** and think T-mobile is dialing back performance or trying to **bleep** off their customers. Totally denial by tmobile.
I did network reset, a new SIM card and even a factory reset. To no avail. Same network drop issues. I have a trouble ticket open with T-mobile after 1 hour of support with no help. Local T-mobile offices offer no help, they are kept in dark

I found an old google pixel 2 xl phone and have been using it this week
amazingly that thing is able to keep an LTE signal and calls in all the places where my s23 fails. using the same sim card and same t-mobile

It's Samsung software or T-MOBILE tower software.

Newer S24 Galaxy phones magically seem to work fine.

I also came across suddenly no signal. Contact Verizon. Long story short. .my insurance kicked in and was provided. (I was told "new phone".) I also belive it was the actual phone.

Same here, an unlocked S23+, year old, out of nowhere, started to drop signal completely without justification!
Other cheaper older phones around the house work as smoothly as it used to.
So is it only me, I'm wondering

It's the phone that's faulty. I'm on my 2nd 22S Ultra device with this issue.  I won't be shocked if this is done to encourage users to move to the next new device. It's crazy.

Hello, thanks for reaching out. If network resetting, factory resetting, and carrier contact is not helping with the signal intermittencies (PLEASE make sure you get the carrier to do everything they can to assist), then service and evaluation would be best.

For service in the U.S., you can take the phone to a local U.S. walk-in service location https://www.ubreakifix.com/samsung  or to ship the phone in for service, please reach out to us via one of the following options:
