What happened to GIF in Samsung messages?

Hi not sure if I am missing something, but the ability to send gifs has been removed. Or am I just not seeing it.

You can still send gifs. I have an S24, click on the face, and then the gif option should pop up

This used to work for me, but now the gifs do not appear that way.

I reset keyboard and the option came back.

I have an S23 but no GIF option under the face 😞

I found it, it's under the small face under the typing bar, not the big face on the typing bar...

I have S23+, 512gb, and gif will NOT attach. Have cleared Messenger cache, it sez it is latest version, have Verizon 1Gb modem, so none of typical Google answers are part of the problem. It's definitely something else. I can attach gifs in text messages but suddenly not in Messenger. Is this part of Facebook forcing us into Whatsapp? I hate Whatsapp and they have substituted it for Messenger in the Facebook comment line, can't change it back. FURIOUS.
