Since I bought this new Samsung Galaxy s24 ultra phone I've been trying to set up my email accounts. I have 2 e-addresses on my Gmail app + different ones on the Samsung email app.

Galaxy S24When you use a Google account for your Samsung account, your Samsung email address might use a domain managed by Google (like @Gmail.com or a custom domain associated with your Google Workspace account).
Optional Feature:
Using a Google account for your Samsung account is optional. You can still have a separate Samsung account and manage your email through Samsung's services without linking it to Google.
Potential Benefits:
Using a Google account for your Samsung account can offer benefits like easier access to Google services, unified logins, and potentially better compatibility with Google apps and services.
Potential Drawbacks:
Some users might prefer to keep their Samsung and Google accounts separate for privacy or security reasons, or if they prefer to use a different email provider.
In summary, Samsung allows you to use your Google account to sign into your Samsung account, which might involve Google managing the domain name for your Samsung email, but this is an optional feature, and you can choose to keep your Samsung and Google accounts separate.

Galaxy S24The main reason I'm keeping the address is to communicate with former clients and old friends - it's my most well-known e-address. Also, it's my most used account verification address.

Galaxy S24You can always use a different email app - BlueMail, Thunderbird, etc. You do not have to use Samsung's email reader. I prefer any other mail app to Samsung's. By now your domain-name email may have its own app, so you can just use the app separate from the email reader.

Galaxy S24I had my domain name registered at Godaddy and hostcentric(?) for years then switched to siteground. For 25+ years I have used my domain-named e-address for everything to include Microsoft accounts and Google Workspace (which I never used) - each account with a different password.
To be honest I really don't know which company does what. Apparently I overused that address but I'd like to keep it.

I appreciate all of your replies. I'll try them again + look into my phone settings to see if I permitted Google to access my Samsung email in the past. š
