Can you please try again to state the issue and use punctuation?

Regarding phone about phone battery information, the battery status shows fast charging even when the device is fully charged—what could be the reason for this? The learning usage patterns have remained in device care since October 2024 and have not disappeared. Additionally, the charger turns on and off despite being brand-new. Is it necessary to perform a factory reset and set up the phone manually without using Samsung Smart Switch?

Ok. So, first thing you should do is run a diagnostic on the battery, the cable charging and the wireless charging.  The diagnostics can be found in the device care settings.

Next you should wipe the phone's cache partition per the instructions below:

1. Power off your phone. Hold Power and vol up buttons until Samsung Logo appears

2. Let go of both buttons when you see the Samsung Logo appear on screen. There will be a delay while it enters recovery mode.

3. Use the volume buttons to navigate through recovery menu options and highlight ā€œWipe Cache Partition.ā€ Press power button to select this option. Confirm by navigating to the yes response and tapping the power button to select.

5. When wiping cache partition is complete, "reboot system now" should be highlighted; press power key to select it. The phone will reboot as normal.

After the phone completely finishes the reboot after unlocking, try the charging again and see if the results are the same.

Go to settings/battery and turn on battery protection - choose one of the three methods of protection.  For most people "Basic" is fine.

Go to device care and turn on auto optimization and set a day and time for automatic reboot of the phone.  To run optimally, the phones need to be periodically rebooted and setting it on auto saves you from having to remember to do it.

If none of this helps, put in an error report with Samsung.  Error reporting can be found in the support tab of the members app. Select send feedback, choose your device and submit your description of the issue and upload the phone logs.  If the phone is still under warranty, if found defective, your friend can have it repaired by Samsung.

Yeah you're going to have to factory reset that.... Make sure you sign out of all accounts first while you're in there May as well wipe the cash partition.... Do a reset from recovery

They do not have to factory reset unless the steps I outlined do not work. Resets are always last resort, not first option unless one is so impatient that they want to go nuclear and just try to solve everything at once.

Hey You give great advice. I'm not taking nothing away from that. The reason I jumped into wiping partition and factory reset. This is because the partition is good as you know, to be done after updates. Anyways, in a factory reset is probably a more easy d. I. Y for a novice or regular user....😊

Kind of presumptuous to assume the OP is a novice or knows nothing.

I am sorry if I am missing something, but to me this is normal and expected behavior.  Seeing as how the device is still plugged in, then it is still connected to the fast charger, as such it will stop charging at 100%, but will start again at 99% (which is hard on batteries FYI)  This appears to be the "issue" you are explaining, again, unless I am missing something here...

Fast charging should not happen at 99%, it only starts fast charging when the battery is very low when you put it on the charger. After it gets up to about 50% it switches to normal charging.  The bouncing between 98% and 100% happens when one puts battery protection on and chooses adaptive - still won't fast charge at 98%.  The OP also stated that a second problem is that it has been months and the battery is still showing "learning usage patterns" when it should have already learned and adapted to the patterns.  The phone may ultimately need a reset, but if these problems can be fixed by changing some settings and clearing the cache, one does not have to do that. Although the fastest, cleanest way to do it would probably be the reset and restore.  It is unlikely whatever problem is causing this behavior would be replicated with data restore after a reset unless the phone is defective or there is an app interfering with the charging operation. Which is why the diagnostic should be performed before anything.
