My watch keeps notifying me of a new text message but it's just a duplicate of the text. From the watch it looks like they sent it twice, but from the phone you can see they didn't.
I can confirm this is not a carrier issue. I've been dealing with it since One UI 5 on my 5 Pro and Fold 5. I just got off the phone with my carrier (AT&T) and they checked everything behind the scenes and found 0 issues whatsoever. They said it has to be a Samsung issue. I'm so tired of getting every text twice on my watch everytime I lose Bluetooth with the phone.
I'm curious , do you have the companion app installed on your watch as well? I'm curious as to if the app on the watch is notifying as well as the app on the phone? I'm experimenting with turning off the notifications on the wearable app for the notifications from the phone when there is a companion app on the watch. Because I started having double notifications when I installed Whatsapp on the watch and the wearable app was still notifying me of the phone notification. Not sure if that's the solution, but that's what came to mind. I've been experiencing this also. I'm just waiting for someone to text me now to see if it fixes it. 😁
Having same issue with duplicate texts with Google Messages. I got tired of it {so did anyone I was texting} so I just went back to using Samsung Messages. I'm not happy at all with having to switch back! I prefer Google Messaging over Samsung! If the issue gets fixed let me know and I switch back!
