Why in the world would you take away the ability to back up our watches manually in the Wearable app? Make it make sense, I have to wait for what is now "PERIODICALLY" to back up my watch, how often is periodically? If you switch to store backups to Samsung Cloud, how does that work, when does that happen?

If anyone knows the answer please let me know!

I completely agree. The option to manually backup the watch should still be available. It's conceivable that this functionality could indeed be patched back in with a future update.

Still need manual backup, as stated. Period. Otherwise is useless to me. I cannot/will not WAIT a whole maybe day just to maybe have a proper backup.

Be sure to make your voice heard about this! Head to the Support tab of the Samsung Members app and submit this via an Error report. The more people who request this feature to return, the faster Samsung is likely to readd it!

Did that also. NOT expecting ANY positive action on it tho. Have used the backup technique sin GW4C and have enjoyed tge piece of mind it gives. Now, no longer have any faith that what us needed to be backed will be, as stated I DO NOT leave BT & WiFi on 24 hours a day. So still looking at just giving up on Samsung fixing their screwup, and looking for a nice digital watch, this way no longer worry about backups. Being Samsung is at fault here, tho I wishh they fix this ASAP! Actually love my GW5P, BUT, cannot rely on it as NO LEGITIMATE BACKUP SYSTEM AVAILABLE ( and, yes, a MANUAL backup is what I consider legit).
Samsung, as far as brand has slid fir me from say 99 out of 100 down to 89 out of 100 because of this.

A manual back up absolutely should be there, but the majority of users leave Wi-Fi/Bluetooth on for their watches. This certain situation sounds specific to your usage. The fix for you would be to turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth overnight, or when the watch and phone aren't in use.

Can I ask what in the world could possibly change so drastically in 1 day time that this is such a game changer? Are you storing critical data on your watch? I'm just a little confused what magnitude of changes could posdibly be happening daily that would have you this distraught. I might be misunderstanding something.

As stated, I try out numerous watchfaces, and do backups when I find good ones. Also, have 1 wat hface that ONLY exists on watch. The watchface AND author no longer exist on Google Play Store. So, literally, NO way to ever get that one back except by a GOOD backup. Have had great success with the way I did backups. Look thru posts in topic I tell process used.

Yessir. I understand. You will definitely still have the backup it just might be up to 24 hours back. I understand your concern and definitely agree a manual option is nice. I just don't think it's as big of an issue as it seems to have become. A Samsung watch is neeeeeever basically just a paperweight regardless of a backup.

Well, considering I prefer good recent backups over day plus old ones (considering I will not be able to alter anything because unable to make backup then and there. Have had changes I make sometimes not work well, and a good backup always is nice in this case.
