Odd - I thought that the problem had been seen by members with players not connected to the web?

I started having same issue over the weekend on my BD-J5100. Took it apart with a freind and traced all of the power circuits on the board, didn't see any drops or fluctations on the circuits, no obvious damage to components, so doesn't look to be anything hardware related. Just like everyone else, unit boots correctly, looks fine and then powers off, only to do it again. Unfortunately, doesn't stay on long enough to do anything like a firmware upgrade. This is obviously not an isolated issue, these units should last longer than this, I'll be going elsewhere in future.

I repair electronics. All that you described has a place to be. Everything is normal and supply voltage and stuff. Yes, from experience I will say that only flashing.

same here ...
BlueRay player screwd up.
After firmwareupdate on wednesday (worked perfectly afterwards), it did nothing correct on saturday.
Even the disc-drawer didn't draw open completely and stuck somehow.
I'd be happy to get a solution.

Samsung do not care about their customers.

If they did they would have provided us with some information about what the problem is.

I have an older model, BD-JM57, wouldnt  turn on about a week ago.  I thought it was the remote, so I ordered a replacement.  It came today, I plugged it in and it started the cycling, on and off.

I have three BD-J5700 models in my house and the first unit cycling on/off on Saturday (6/20/20) and now I have a second unit doing the exact same thing today (6/23/20)

I tried unplugging them. I also tried holding the eject button for 8 seconds to try to do a

factory hard reset but still neither one works.

The first unit to go out was connected by WiFi and the second one was connected with a hard line. My third unit that is still working was never connected to the internet.

You are not alone. There are some larger threads already going looking for answers. I am reporting this to my local news station so they can investigate and put additional pressure on Samsung through the use of their media. I urge you to do the same if you are able. See related thread for different model here: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Home-Theater/Blu-ray-player-power-cycling-whenever-plugged-in/m-...

Yah. My Samsung Blu-ray Player, BD-J57 is kaput. Contacted Samsung days ago Have received nary a word from them. Perhaps we..as well as the countless users of Samsung Blu-ray Players. Should file complains to the either the FTC and/or file a collective class action suit against Sansung??! Kindly pass the word.

Thanks.
