Home TheaterWell, add me to the list - BD JM57C froze during an Amazon Prime video program last night (6/17/2020). Nothing worked except Power Off from the remote, but then the infinite power off/on cycle began. Tried unplugging it for a few seconds, for several minutes, and finally overnight and the same thing keeps happening.
I get the Samsung logo, then the main menu, and then it powers off/on within seconds, so there's no time to look for the current firmware version.
As I recall, there was no automatic firmware update feature on this device - I always had to check manually for a new version. I last did so approximately 3 weeks ago, and it was current. In fact, the date of the then-current firmware was so long ago that I figured they had stopped updating this older model of player.
Hopefully, Samsung support is paying attention and will post a fix here soon!

Home TheaterI am following this thread for a solution too. I have a Jm57c that also started the reboot loop. Happened in the same window as everyone else.

Home TheaterSame issue with me and my BD-JM57C. Had a "what the...!" moment when it was turned on today. Called Samsung a second time after reading all of these comments and told the person there were too many complaints for it to be a coincidence. After a brief hold I was told that the engineers were aware of the problem and are working to find a solution. I'm told they will e-mail me when a fix is discovered. Good luck to us all!

Home TheaterWe've got two of these devices and the one downstairs failed this morning. I took it apart to get the disc out and then left the drive disconnected thinking it was a hardware issue...but it still rebooted.
Tonight watching DVDs on the one upstairs it was working fine when I shut it off and came back 30 minutes later and it was shot.
Looks like a firmware issue since both of them were purchased more than a year apart...

Home TheaterI watched a movie last night and turned the unit on today to get the disk out to return it and I'm getting the same loop. The unit powers on and the drive makes a noise, the blue Samsung logo flashes on, and then the main menu pops on for a second, enough time to see the cursor move from "Play Disc" one step to the right onto "Photos", then it blacks out and repeats.
So much for watching a movie tonight. You can't possibly tell me there was no bad firmware update pushed out last night.

Home TheaterI started having the same problem about an hour ago. It worked fine when I watched a DVD 2 days ago. Today I opened it and put in a new disc and then it started cycling and I can't get the disc out. I tried everything I've been able to find, checking hdmi cable, making sure connections are secure, unplugging, etc. Nothing works.

Home TheaterI found this thread because my player is doing the same thing model # BD-JM57C. Like others have said, worked fine yesterday. Sat down to finish the disc we were watching yesterday and cycle reboot started. Adding my voice so i can folow the updates on this thread.

Home TheaterAdd me to the list. BD-JM57C worked fine earlier this evening. Paused for a while then went into this loop. It would be nice to know of a solution.
