Home TheaterSince the update, the soundbar is unresponsive and can't be reset.
Seems like quite a few people with the issue

Home TheaterYeah but you don't know for sure if they don't know some backdoor way with usb firmware, to make the bar respond to it.
We'll have to wait and see.

Home TheaterMy 6-month old Q990D ran into this same issue after 1020.7 firmware update. A few days ago, I opened a case with Samsung Tech Support and they asked me to ship the soundbar only to "Samsung Repair Center (Techeim, Inc), 5 N Corporate Drive, Riverdale, NJ 07457. According to the "Repair Statement" email message I received from Samsung, the Repair Center replaced the main printed circuit board (PCB) part# AH94-03964A

Home TheaterSamsung can kiss their own backside if they’re expecting consumers to be inconveniently taking their own item back, when some consumers have their warranty still intact. Furthermore, I’m sure they’re breaching their own terms and conditions, where part of the agreement of their devices is to be ‘always on’ to the internet.
Q800D, working fine 3 days ago. Now this **bleep**!!!

Home TheaterThis entire situation is indeed ridiculous - my son had his Spring break at Dental school and instead of finally getting chance to relax he’s spent hours dealing with this, and will still need to spend more to ship/wait/etc - as has been mentioned by others. I empathize with everyone in similar position.
IMHO, everyone- especially those still in warranty, but really everyone - should tell Samsung they should be compensated by adding a year or two of additional warranty,
as a minimum.
I’m thankful my Q is not connected to internet, and has not bricked.
…and Samsung - I ve bought TVs, soundbars etc but pulling hard at the reins in considering buying Samsung again, ie. very hesitant to, do so - depending on outcome of this self-inflicted mess.
Someone definitely didn’t do their job.
Best of luck to everyone.

Home TheaterI think best of luck to Samsung. Because they’re going to be impacted majorly by their share price dropping and their loyalty trust base getting evaporated.

Home TheaterStill no official news from Samsung? I hoped at leastthe recognized it. When I now call the support center again I am the first who mention it 🙂 I guess they are all told to keep it secret still... In the background I hope Samsung is working overtime in there software department now (is this located in Korea or they give that away to India or...)
For now I filled in my return paper work inclusive a movie of not working bar and will ask just before return if the repair shops (external company) if they can push for at house fixing. I hope they are in direct contact to development support from Samsung.... Or not and also just start replacing blind the motherboards because it doesn`t cost them money anyway...
