Ran into this myself. Here's what you do. Hold the list button (the one with three lines ) for about 3 to five seconds. That should get you to factory reset and then you can follow the prompts from there make sure you have set up a Samsung account before this and it will go a lot faster
I followed reddit post on "rescue mode" and that worked for me
below worked for me
1) open/run fridge manager app from family hub
2) Press and hold recent apps or home for 10 seconds
3) white screen comes up with menus - select factory reset
4) Once factory reset is done, you'll be out of retail mode.
