I have a Samsung series 6 55" smart UHD LED TV. I am also a DirecTV HBO subscriber. The smart hub app immediately switched to HBO now when clicking on it. It won't allow me access.

I already have HBO Max working and activated on my smartphone.

Will Samsung fix this issue?

I was able to fix this issue by:

  • Going into the lists of apps that lets you delete and move apps
  • Deleting what looked like the HBO Max app, but I think was still a leftover/old version of HBO now (purely speculation).
  • Reinstalling the HBO Max app

Then when I opened the app it worked as expected.

HBO Max is the only option when i add hbo max it adds hbonow. I guess i could watch it wirh the browser but that would be a pain.

It looks like HBO NOW app is now replaced with HBO MAX.

I have a 55" QLED and a 65" QLED, and I have the same issue on both. I thought maybe the HBO Max login would just work but no luck
