When I scroll to source on my TVs the Samsung TV icon sometimes has a blue checkmark, sometimes not.

The remote access has a blue symbol in the lower right hand corner. Sometimes there, sometimes nor.

What are these?  What do they mean?

Also, sometimes the settings just change by themselves.

The Blue Check means that the device is actively connected.   The connected device does not need to be the device that is being displayed though t normally is.  I've also seen devices show blue checkmarks for seamingly no reason but I think that the TV/Monitors detection software believes that there is something active.

I would assume the same for the Remote Connection icon. I would make sure that Remote Connection is turned off in Settings until you need it.
