QN65 Q80 4k Smart TV: how to reduce # of remotes (now need 1 for cable box, one for smart apps and 1 for sound bar

need to control vizio sound bar with tv remote, but when attach optical cable and select optical as sound source, then seems only way to control volume is using Vizio remote. Can't determine if other audio ports are available on rear of TV.... perhaps there is an alternate to optic connection.  Anyone know?  Is there a suggested universal remote I should consider to combine all 3 used now, into a single remote?

PS  I'm using ATT U-Verse set top box.

Hard to know exactly without specifics of models etc, but by and large HDMI allows some controls of connected appliances (via the HDMI-CEC function).

Might be an option to see if that works for you?
