Just bought a Samsung S95D and the TV  does not reliably turn on through HDMI CEC ... I've tried using an Apple TV and a Playstation 5, both of which are set to turn the TV on through HDMI CEC and have the appropriate cables to do so (i.e. both of these devices turned my previous Samsung Q90T on without any issues prior to this TV).

This seems to be an issue  when the TV is off for more than an hour ... if the TV was just recently turned off (e.g. in the past hour), the Apple TV and the Playstation 5 are both able to turn the TV on. Anything more than an hour, the TV does not turn on successfully through these two devices

Haha, I’m sure the ads will just get more oppressive and the amount of issues will increase. The lack of response from Samsung is disconcerting. I spoke to a support agent and tried to get them to flag the issue, they seem to not really care about escalating it.

I’ve resolved the issue twice through hours of troubleshooting but every time I unplug the TV, the trials start all over. I can’t work out what causes it to work, I will let you all know if I find a full proof way to resolve it.

Same issue here, 55inch S95D with Apple TV 4k 2022. I can power off the TV but after a while, I cannot wake up the TV using Apple TV remote. It's SUPER ANNOYING to use 2 remotes at the same time. Please fix this issue ASAP.

Same issue as well.  We have an S95D and a new Apple TV box connected.   We cannot power the TV on with the Apple TV remote.  It's frustrating that Samsung can't get this fixed considering the TV is > $3500!

Same issue with Samsung Frame 2024 LS03D, apple tv CEC command for turning on is not working after long stand by.

I believe this happens because the TV is getting turned on by its sensors (motion, mic on the TV, and light sensor)

which is causing the HDMI handshake to break.

you can turn off the TV microphone only with a hard switch in TV control panel, ref (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIyv4Y8cw2M&pp=ygUec2Ftc3VuZyBUViBtaWNyb3Bob25lIHR1cm4gb2Zm)

Does this fix the issue?

Not sure that’s the fix for the issue as I have my Apple TV turning on the TV at the moment with the microphone enabled.

I’m worried about losing a working setup so I don’t want to experiment further but I think installing the Smart Hub may prevent the TV from going into a deep sleep, this allowing it to respond to commands. Has anyone else had success installing it?

Mid Nov...  new S95D   with Q990d and Apple tv.. exact same issue..   Apple TV turns tv on  if within a short period, but not after time....    I have disabled the microphone just now to test..  but it hasn't been long enough

Anyone else have info on this?

Update to my previous comment: I "solved" this problem by simply using the TV remote. When I use the TV remote it turns on the TV, the soundbar and the Apple TV. Perhaps this is by design? I dunno, but it works.

That's not really a solution at all...
