So my G9 is having the intermittent black screen issue, after a while of pushing buttons I can get the screen to come back and it works just fine. I'm connected to a PC running a GTX 4080. I contacted support and they proceeded to refer me to Samsung's support website which EXCLUDES monitors. When I asked I was told that there is nowhere in the US that Samsung has partnered with to support products that are out of warranty.
I paid $1,400 for a product that is maybe 3 years old and does still work, albeit with issues, and Samsung's official response is for me to buy another monitor or try and find someone who repairs monitors. As someone who has multiple Samsung monitors, uses all Samsung phones for my 5 family members, and has several Samsung TV's this is pretty egregious. I was a Samsung supporter here in the States but it's beginning to look like support outside of a warranty period is non-existent and that is some terrible customer service.
Anyone in the Southern California area find a repair shop for monitors since Samsung doesn't support them?
Samsung has 25% of the world's monitor/digital signage market meaning they sell multiple millions of monitors each year.
That's a lot of individual custom made bit and pieces to handle for repair support.
In the long run it is easier to just replace the defective item than it is to support some repair facility.
Supporting an after warranty support system is economically unsound and illogical.
After 40 years repairing/supporting military, commercial, and consumer electronic systems it is common knowledge in the industry.
I paid $1100 for a 34" high performance gaming monitor with a 1 year warranty. At month 13 the monitor display went to garbage. There was no after warranty support so the monitor literally went in the dumpster and a different brand monitor replaced it. When this monitor dies it will be dumpster food also.
Do a little Google time for after warranty support to see what I mean.
