Remote not working and red light flashing

Hello.

Looks like I just fell into the same Remote ‘flashing red, not pairing, not available, tv turning on by itself in the middle of the night’ black hole I’ve seen posted about.  How frustrating!  I have read through the posts and tried everything, yet i cannot get any of the functions to work.  Everything has worked perfectly for over a year.  I’m so confused, please help.

I have UN65KS9500FXZA.

Hi - I tried several times to do the back button, volume up for 20 seconds wiht the TV off, no luck.  I've changed the remote batteries twice, any alternate ideas?

Not sure how to tell you what remote, it's the simple remote that came from the TV, not the universal type of remote from my cable provider.  It has:

- power button

- microphone button

- 123 button

- button with four colored dots

- round button in the middle with the up/down/left/right circle control

- back arrow button

- home button

- play/pause button

- volume up/down

- channel up/down

Which software version is running on the television?

Does any of that help?  I don't see anythign that says software version.

Go to Settings>Support>Software Update and it should show Current Software Version. If it is not there, check in Settings>Support>Contact Samsung.

So when I go to Settings > Sysetm Information > (no support option)

It says "From the main menu, choose settings, then sysstem information to view information about the software, hardware, entework, and the current configuration of your Verizon Fios TV System"  

But doesn't actually show me any of this.

Streaming server status is version 5.6, that's all I can see that shows a version.

Firmware version is:  

KA25.04.04.15ALDER.9DB2F5DB

I believe you're just using the Verizon remote. The Samsung TV options would not include Fios.

Ok, but my samsung TV remote is the one that isn't working, so where should I go from here?

Use the button toggle on the bottom of the television screen to navigate to the settings.
