QLED and The Frame TVs

Hi all,

I have a Samsung 55" QN95A 4K Neo QLED from 2021.
I  connected an external HDD (not usb stick), and everything works fine.
Now, I would like to safely eject the HDD before disconnecting the USB cable, but there is no option for doing that on the TV interface.

Some Youtube videos mention the "tools" option on the sources section of the interface, but I don't have some options on my TV UI.

Any suggestions on how to safely remove the HDD?
Is there any downside with keeping the HDD always connected to the TV?

Thanks in advance.

Will suggest powering it down, disconnect the power cable from the TV, then remove the USB cable for the drive. Some systems do not have the safely eject option for certain mass storage devices.

Also, ensure that input is not set to the storage device before powering the TV off.

Ok... I am surprised that a $1000 TV with 3 USB ports doesn't offer a software solution to something this basic.
Thanks for the input though.

Check the manual to see if the TV hot swaps. If it does then all you need to do is unplug it. Chances are if the USB flash drives can then the HDD should as well. Honestly in this day and age having an "eject" button is pointless as we've had swap abilities since the early 2ks from what I remember.
