No Longer Seamlessly Displaying Art Mode with Apple TV 4K

In the last few weeks, Samsung updated the OS to the Frame TV and a function that I regularly used is no longer available. I'm writing in hope that someone can suggest a workaround (or if Samsung engineers read this, to bring the function back).

I have an Apple TV 4K media streamer for my Frame 55" 2022 TV. I'm assuming that other media streamers such as Chromecast, Roku, etc. would have a similar behavior that I am getting now post-OS update.

Prior to the update, I would be watching TV using the Apple TV 4K steamer, conclude for the evening, power off the streamer with the Siri remote, and the Frame would instantly go into the Art Mode and display artwork for 30 minutes (my settings) before the Frame would go to sleep. Post upgrade, I power off the streamer (Apple tells me the streamer goes to sleep, not powering off), but instead of the Frame displaying artwork, it is searching for a media source:

My only recourse now is to use the Samsung remote and manually navigate to the Art Mode and select the artwork, a multi-step process.

Is anyone else who is using a streamer experiencing this, and do you have a workaround?

I tried you screen shots now the Samsung tv always starts when i put the ATV to sleep instead of ART mode. Oh well.

I followed the steps Russell posted. I also went into my Smart Things app and made sure my tv was connected. I am still having the same problem. Now, when I power down from my Apple TV the first time after resetting both units, it will display the Art Mode. However, if I wait a few moments and then go back to the TV menu and then power down again, the issue has returned and I get the screen that says "Antenna Cable: Disconnected" and the choose "Source" button at the bottom of the screen. I'm basically back to having to use the Smart TV remote to manually get to Art Mode.

Seeing you work at Samsung and have tried to assist with this issue, can you please escalate this internally? Samsung support seems to think this is an Apple issue, which is it not. This sleep/Art Mode malfunction outlined in this thread is due to a firmware update released by Samsung. 

Is this issue being tracked internally as a bug? If so, can you provide a ticket number to this thread?  If not, can you please create a ticket and attach a link? Thank you.

Only works the first time, when powered off the second time shows on screen "antenna cable disconnected"! This is garbage now, worked just fine prior to stupid update.

Russel, this only works once, then shows message "ANTENNA CABLE DISCONNECTED".

I'm having the exact same issue. I've tried the steps outlined here by Russel (and the settings in the attached screenshots by others). However, the issue persists after the second time "sleep" is initiated from the Apple TV.

My work around is just let ATV NEVER sleep and have the screensaver Arial on. So when the stupid TV switches out from ART Mode on its own at least it shows the ATV screensaver. It stays on forever till I see it and manually switch to ART Mode. Not a complete fix but it will at least stop that other screen from staying on forever until you see it.

I might have to try this. At least having the Arial screensaver come on is something. Sumsung really needs to fix this though.

Same issue here - really bummed! After I power cycle the devices, the first time I put ATV to sleep Art Mode will turn on as desired... but if I power on the ATV and then put it back to sleep, the Frame TV goes to the Antennae input source.  Help, Samsung!

Just yesterday Art Mode stopped and switched to HDMI ATV at least 6 times during the day. Then a different day 1 times. Then on another day 3 times. It's just insane and Samsung has not addressed this issue at all.
