QLED and The Frame TVs

In the last few weeks, Samsung updated the OS to the Frame TV and a function that I regularly used is no longer available. I'm writing in hope that someone can suggest a workaround (or if Samsung engineers read this, to bring the function back).

I have an Apple TV 4K media streamer for my Frame 55" 2022 TV. I'm assuming that other media streamers such as Chromecast, Roku, etc. would have a similar behavior that I am getting now post-OS update.

Prior to the update, I would be watching TV using the Apple TV 4K steamer, conclude for the evening, power off the streamer with the Siri remote, and the Frame would instantly go into the Art Mode and display artwork for 30 minutes (my settings) before the Frame would go to sleep. Post upgrade, I power off the streamer (Apple tells me the streamer goes to sleep, not powering off), but instead of the Frame displaying artwork, it is searching for a media source:

My only recourse now is to use the Samsung remote and manually navigate to the Art Mode and select the artwork, a multi-step process.

Is anyone else who is using a streamer experiencing this, and do you have a workaround?

Thanks,
David

Having the same problem and agree it is nonsense for this premium-priced TV to fail on this basic task.

This is still happening. Did a reset of both tv and apple tv. Tried with Anynet+ (hdmi-cec) check/unchecked. Tried with “use smarthub” checked/unchecked.

What a show. This is not like a minor performance aspect, this is basic functionality for every tv in the last decade. I knew I should’ve stayed away from Samsung…

Adding to the deluge of comments here. Samsung get your heads out of your asses and fix this  now! This thread is 12 pages long now. Where is Samsung?!?!? Nowhere to be found?!?!? So upset by this…

This thread now has over 15,000 views and hundreds of responses. The next highest I could see had less than 1000 views and maybe 10 or so responses.

Are you paying any attention Samsung? Does your engineering team not understand what a rollback is? Clearly your PR team doesn’t understand much in their domain either seeing as how you have remained completely silent as tens of thousands of angry users have stopped by to fix their problem only to learn that in fact YOU, Samsung, are the problem….

Seen on the other thread (Here) / Quote from whosthatguy :

" I had a call with someone in support who actually followed up. They confirmed the CEC issue with a senior technician and there will be a new software set to release to the public OTN on October 18th. This release showed poor due diligence from Samsung and will be causing support chaos right across the world. Fingers crossed they come through with the update and learn from the mistake. "

Finger crossed !!

Wow, that is better news than I was expecting.

Would be nice to see an official response from Samsung in this thread to confirm

The official response from Samsung is that if they don't admit it was ever broken, it wasn't broken.

Has anyone had the ATV OS update to 17 fix the issue?  It seems to have here!
