No Longer Seamlessly Displaying Art Mode with Apple TV 4K

In the last few weeks, Samsung updated the OS to the Frame TV and a function that I regularly used is no longer available. I'm writing in hope that someone can suggest a workaround (or if Samsung engineers read this, to bring the function back).

I have an Apple TV 4K media streamer for my Frame 55" 2022 TV. I'm assuming that other media streamers such as Chromecast, Roku, etc. would have a similar behavior that I am getting now post-OS update.

Prior to the update, I would be watching TV using the Apple TV 4K steamer, conclude for the evening, power off the streamer with the Siri remote, and the Frame would instantly go into the Art Mode and display artwork for 30 minutes (my settings) before the Frame would go to sleep. Post upgrade, I power off the streamer (Apple tells me the streamer goes to sleep, not powering off), but instead of the Frame displaying artwork, it is searching for a media source:

My only recourse now is to use the Samsung remote and manually navigate to the Art Mode and select the artwork, a multi-step process.

Is anyone else who is using a streamer experiencing this, and do you have a workaround?

The 1608 software fixed the issue for me completely. I updated using a USB 3.1 usb stick. I have a 2022 75” Frame

Firmware 1608 worked for me too!  So glad to have art mode back!!   I used a Samsung USB stick formatted MS-DOS and have a 2022 Frame - QN65LS03BAFXZA.

Samsung download page shows this version. My TV says current firmware Version 1520. So this version 1608 works on our model? I have the same model as yours. US version 2022 Matte Frame, 65".

I have the 32” frame tv. I have automatic updates turned on but had to do a manual check which told me that an update was available. I just updated to 1523z I was so excited the first time I turned off my AppleTV and it went directly to art mode. Tried it again for good measure and now I am back to seeing the “antenna cable: disconnected” message screen. Huge bummer!

Hey Mike! 

I have 5 2022 Frames ranging in size around the house that are all exp these issues with the Apple TV! 1608 isn't popping up for update available for me.. How did it get the file? And any special instructions on getting onto a USB and doing manual update? any help here would be much appreciated? Are you located in the US btw?

despite the screenshot of that email, it still looks sketchy. Mr Weinberg, if you’re still here, can you expand the “From:” info in the email?

Email is unencrypted, links to an unencrypted IP address masquerading as some sort of FTP service; need to see the email address of the sender for there to be any legitimacy to that email. Even then it’s not guaranteed, since e-mail addresses can be spoofed.

Cybersecurity professional here haha, so I know what to look out for.
