No Longer Seamlessly Displaying Art Mode with Apple TV 4K

In the last few weeks, Samsung updated the OS to the Frame TV and a function that I regularly used is no longer available. I'm writing in hope that someone can suggest a workaround (or if Samsung engineers read this, to bring the function back).

I have an Apple TV 4K media streamer for my Frame 55" 2022 TV. I'm assuming that other media streamers such as Chromecast, Roku, etc. would have a similar behavior that I am getting now post-OS update.

Prior to the update, I would be watching TV using the Apple TV 4K steamer, conclude for the evening, power off the streamer with the Siri remote, and the Frame would instantly go into the Art Mode and display artwork for 30 minutes (my settings) before the Frame would go to sleep. Post upgrade, I power off the streamer (Apple tells me the streamer goes to sleep, not powering off), but instead of the Frame displaying artwork, it is searching for a media source:

My only recourse now is to use the Samsung remote and manually navigate to the Art Mode and select the artwork, a multi-step process.

Is anyone else who is using a streamer experiencing this, and do you have a workaround?

Firmware 1601.8 fixes all issues on my TV 2022 65" Frame QN65LS03AFXZA. If you are skeptical about the source of the firmware, then you can download it directly from Samsung. Firmware 1602.3 has just been released in the South Korean Samsung market, so it should be available in the US in 2 or 3 weeks. If you can't wait, you can get it from www.samsung.com/sec/support/model/KQ65LSB03AFXKR/ Translate the page to English and find the download link.

Install it as usual: download, unzip, copy folder T-PTMAKUC to USB drive, etc.

This firmware fixed it for me. Testing few days now and no more issues. You still get the silly notification of your art settings otherwise no more issues.

Update: Spoke too soon. Just now it started to exit art mode and no connection blue screen. Wow what a joke on us. I’ll reset the whole thing again and see what happens. At least it worked great for a few days.

having trouble updating to 1602.2 via USB on QN55LS03BAFXZA

No update available when trying to install the firmware on the QA85LS03BAWXXY which I believe is the Australian version of the TV. Tried through the TV and through USB and neither works. Hoping it will be available here soon.

Can confirm that the update from page 17 (1601) fixes the apple tv issue!

I just downloaded 1602.2 from the Samsung support webpage and installed it via USB. The trick I learned this time trying to install via USB was to unzip and take all files out of the folders and just put the individual files on my USB. When I tried to instal 1601 I just put the unzipped folder on my USB and my TV couldn't find the update. Putting the individual files on the stick worked like a charm. So far update seems to have worked and solved the problem, but I've only turned off ATV twice so far. We'll see if it continues to seamlessly return to art mode or not over the longer haul. Fingers crossed. I have the QN32LS0#BBFXZA.
