My Samsung Messages app keeps closing. I've restarted my phone multiple times. I've gone to Settings > App Settings > Messages > Storage and hit Clear cache and Clear data. When I do this, the space used for cache and data go down to 0, but then immediately go back up to the original storage amounts when I reopen Messages.

I found a previous conversation about Messages crashing in Dec 2023 and tried following the instructions but when I held down the power button and volume up with the phone turned off, the phone restarted as normal, even though I held them down until after the Samsung logo disappeared.

If I can't fix it, can I install a different app for

My Google storage is 94% full. Could that be connected?

Unacceptable! Some of us rely on our cell phones for emergencies because we live in an area with no cell service or landline service. We use satellite internet for our wifi and use our cell phones on wifi for emergencies. **bleep**?

Within 3sec app shuts down. Restarted phone multiple times, turned off Bluetooth, turned off Phone Saver and still I cannot send anything.
Please post an update when possible.
Thank you.

This has been posted a lot today. At the moment, the Samsung Messages app isn't working for a lot of people until it gets fixed. I suggested switching over to Google Messages until Samsung Messages starts working again

It may be cache settings or bad update for some. You can try going to the app's settings from android's settings ->apps. Deleting the user data under storage may help solve the issue. Make sure you back up the messages first.
