My Samsung Messages app keeps closing. I've restarted my phone multiple times. I've gone to Settings > App Settings > Messages > Storage and hit Clear cache and Clear data. When I do this, the space used for cache and data go down to 0, but then immediately go back up to the original storage amounts when I reopen Messages.

I found a previous conversation about Messages crashing in Dec 2023 and tried following the instructions but when I held down the power button and volume up with the phone turned off, the phone restarted as normal, even though I held them down until after the Samsung logo disappeared.

If I can't fix it, can I install a different app for

My Google storage is 94% full. Could that be connected?

Can't believe it, Disabling Google meet has actually fixed the issue.

I have serious safety concerns regarding my samsung account, what can I do to ensure that I am not connected to other devices and ensure it stays that way. I have unknown routines and many many problems with very intrusive app permissions that shouldn't be used

I've had the same problem with mine as well and have a Samsung (it's Samsung not your provider btw). It started yesterday - May 29. This morning I found on a Samsung forum (this one, I think), that if you go to Apps, Default Apps, and type Meet in the search bar, it will show Google Meet or just Meet. Select that and disable it. Don't just Force Stop because that's not enough. Clearing Cache and Data won't fix it either. Doing the side button thing (On/Off + Volume) won't fix it either. This, for me at least, worked when I disabled Google Meet. It's not a FIX, but for now, a work around that let's me send messages without the app crashing five seconds I to it.
