My Samsung Messages app keeps closing. I've restarted my phone multiple times. I've gone to Settings > App Settings > Messages > Storage and hit Clear cache and Clear data. When I do this, the space used for cache and data go down to 0, but then immediately go back up to the original storage amounts when I reopen Messages.

I found a previous conversation about Messages crashing in Dec 2023 and tried following the instructions but when I held down the power button and volume up with the phone turned off, the phone restarted as normal, even though I held them down until after the Samsung logo disappeared.

If I can't fix it, can I install a different app for

My Google storage is 94% full. Could that be connected?

Disable "Google Meet" that will fix it. Google meet is conflicting with the message app

Yes I am as well two day now. The app closes before I can type or read anything.

Disable "Google Meets" that will fix the issue. Somehow Google meets is interfering with the "message" app. Until I found this fix I downloaded Google messenger which will work as well

I would like to know exactly what everyone did to disable or Uninstall Google Meet to get their messages to work, because I deleted the app and still can't get my messages to work. And yes, I defragged my phone, rebooted it 3 times and guess what, I still can NOT read or respond to my messages. I open it and 30 seconds later, it's booting me off
