Starting with the release of the Fold 6 series, Samsung Messages will no longer be pre-installed on future Samsung devices. Google Messages will be the only messaging app on phones in the US. Google is pushing this especially with the implementation of RCS compatibility on Iphones come September. RCS will only work from Google Messages to IMessage. Google owns Android, their platform, their rules. 

Samsung Messages will still be available for download in the Galaxy Store, stripped of any real meaningful features.

Not only will Google Messages be the sole messaging app, RSC will be turned on by default. If you wish to have RCS chat features it will ONLY be available in Google's product.

I will bet that when the next update rolls out, all those that still have enhanced features in the Samsung Messages it will be gone. Samsung Messages will now only be SMS/MMS.

This is the future going forward with messaging in the US, you either jump on board with Google Messages or you can stay with Samsung Messages with no enhanced features.

I don't like it I hate Google messages when they get rid of the Samsung message app I will be switching over to Apple and I don't even like Iphones Samsung is changing for the worse

As of now I can't find a way to have groups or categories in Google. That is a very nice feature to have when you have lots of messages and you need to keep them for easy find. Yes you can search but you don't always remember who or what the subject was about but if you have a group of all work or bills or anything you can just go to that group of messages and look. Instead of having to look through 2500 messages. Hope Google add that feature soon because I am going to be S.O.L when I have to move over, which will be soon since I just ordered a Z-Flip 6.
Do anyone know how to give Google suggestions for new features, not that they will listen to the people but we can always try.

I'm not sure if it's true but I seen that to meet apples rcs messages they were saying that samsung will eventually get rid of samsung message and go to Google messages instead. I really hope this is not true I hate using Google messages and been using the samsung message for years if samsung is getting rid of their message app to please apple I might as well switch to iphone

All new phones will come will come with Google. I just don't like it because i can't customize it. I have colored bubbles, different color text. Wallpaper for different contacts.

Yeah, I just got a new S24 ultra and it doesn't even have Samsung messages on it. Came with Google messages and I hate it! I can't even find the Samsung messages anywhere! Does anybody know where I can find it?!
